Fly at a higher game
It does not matter, which kind of sport you like. In Cape Town you can practice all of them and also in the different elements like water, air and earth. You will be able to do everything you wish for and especially the activities in the air are popular because everyone has the dream to fly. So here are some air activities.
Fufi Slide is an activity in Cape Town that you practice with a 300 to 400 meter cable high up in the air. This is only for people, who are not afraid of heights. All children from three to eight years can take part of the Fufi Slide, but they will be accompanied by a guide. Companies are for example “Ceres Adventures” in Schurweberg Mountains and “Bluerock” in Somerset West. This experience will be about R150 to R400.
Sky Diving is really for the people, who have strong nerves. They operate this in Cape Town and the most people say it is better than paragliding. You will fall down in about 3000 to 4000 meter high in the air and you will be in the free fall for about one minute. Children from twelve to eighteen years are allowed to do the skydiving, but just with parental agreement. People, who weigh more than 100 kilogram, are not allowed to take part at this activity. One company is “Sky Dive Cape Town”, where you pay about R1900.
The ones, who are not brave enough, can do the paragliding in Cape Town from Lion’s Head or Signal Hill and land relaxed in Sea Point. During the flight you can enjoy the beautiful view of the V&A Waterfront, the sea, Table Mountain, the Twelve Apostles and much more. A flight will be about 10 to 30 minutes depending on the weather and is offered by “Cape Town Tandem Paragliding” for about R950.
You want to sit down and just watch without any action then a helicopter flight could be nice for you. City Tours are done by everyone, but to fly above Cape Town is something special. Also there are different kinds of tours that will bring you to Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope, to the vineyards and also to the Big 5 of Africa. See all these things from a completely different side. One company is “Helicopters Cape Town”, who operates from the V&A Waterfront. The costs of a flight depend on where you want to go, but it will be between R1300 and R3500. The special and private tours can be much more.
For the ones, who love jumping and adrenaline, maybe the bungee jumping is the perfect choice. In Bloukrans you will find the highest bungee jump, which is about 216 meters high. You will get help with everything, but at the end it is you, who have to jump and that needs a lot of bravery. “Face Adrenaline” are the only ones, who operate there and a jump is about R790.
